China Southern Airlines Orders 137 Airbus A320neo

China Southern airlines has ordered 137 single-aisle Airbus A320neo planes for about $21.4 billion. In a statement to the Shanghai stock exchange, the airline said it will take 102 planes for itself and 35 for its XiamenAir subsidiary.

Airbus has confirmed the order for the delivery of China Southern planes between 2028 and 2032, while XiamenAir order will be delivered between 2029 and 2032. China Southern is one of the Asian nation’s three largest airlines, along with Air China and China Eastern.

Airbus’ order book stood at 9,000 planes at the end of March, but the European manufacturer is having trouble respecting its promised delivery dates.
