FarmAll Ecosystems Limited has unveiled FarAI, an artificial intelligence-powered farm management and market-linkage platform designed to help farmers improve productivity, access markets and increase profitability.
The firm which announced the launch on World Food Day, said FarAI, is available at www.farai.ng, as Africa’s first AI-powered complete farm management and market-linkage platform.
According to the firm the platform brings farm planning, production support, pest management, financial tracking, nutrition guidance and market access into a single mobile application, targeting smallholder farmers and other participants in the agricultural value chain.
It said the platform combines farm advisory services, market access and production tools to help farmers boost productivity, reduce post-harvest losses and increase income.
According to the company, many African farmers continue to face limited access to agricultural expertise, modern farming tools and reliable markets, despite their significant contribution to food production across the continent.
FarmAll Ecosystems said the challenges often result in reduced productivity, poor farm incomes and substantial post-harvest losses.
Speaking on the launch, the company’s founder, Samuel Akinyode, said FarAI was developed to make agricultural knowledge and market opportunities more accessible to farmers.
“Food security will not be solved from the top down. It will be solved in the hands of the farmer,” Akinyode said.
He explained that the platform combines the capabilities of agricultural experts, nutritionists, market analysts and extension officers in one application, enabling farmers to access practical guidance in languages they understand.
The firm said FarAI supports English, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin, allowing users to seek advice through voice or text.
Platform offers end-to-end farm management
FarmAll Ecosystems said FarAI provides a range of services covering different stages of agricultural production, from planning and cultivation to harvesting and marketing.
Its AI Farm Advisor offers guidance on crops, livestock, fish farming, pests, weather conditions, planting calendars and farm finance.
The platform also connects farmers with buyers, traders, cooperatives and other market participants through services including Farmtakers, Farshare, Coohub and farmtap.
Other features include production planning, farm budgeting, income tracking and a Formulation Lab that provides guidance on feed, fertiliser and pesticide formulations for crops, livestock and fish farming.
The company said the platform also incorporates a Post-Harvest Hub for monitoring shelf life, spoilage, storage and cold-chain management, while connecting farmers with processors and warehouses.
It added that its Nutrition AI feature provides personalised seven-day nutrition guidance based on available farm produce and household food needs.
Farmers who require additional assistance can also access verified agricultural experts for online chats, telephone consultations and farm visits through the FarmExperts service.
Platform targets post-harvest losses and low farm incomes.
FarmAll Ecosystems said FarAI was designed to address challenges affecting food security and agricultural profitability in Nigeria and other African countries.
The company cited estimates that Nigeria loses between 40 and 50 per cent of some perishable agricultural produce after harvest, highlighting the need for improved storage, processing and market access.
FarAI available online and on Android
The company said FarAI is available for download on the Google Play Store and can also be accessed through its website, www.farai.ng.
Core features are available free of charge, while a low-cost Pro subscription provides access to advanced tools, including the Formulation Lab and Post-Harvest Hub.
According to FarmAll Ecosystems, the platform is designed to work on everyday Android smartphones and under low-bandwidth conditions.
The company added that the service is accessible to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, while an iOS version for Apple’s App Store is planned.
