Thailand Train Collision Sparks Bus Fire, Injures Dozens

At least eight people were killed and 25 others injured after a train collision triggered a fire that engulfed a public bus in Bangkok on Saturday, rescue officials and police said.

Firefighters and rescue crews were dispatched after flames spread through the bus and nearby vehicles following the crash, which involved a train, cars and motorcycles, authorities said.

Rescue teams worked to pull injured victims from the wreckage while firefighters battled the blaze with water hoses in an effort to contain the fire.

Officials said the fire had been brought under control, with emergency crews continuing cooling operations, venting gas and searching the area for additional victims. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, authorities said.
