The Oyo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says a total of 533 suspects have been arrested for drug-related offences in the last six months.
It also said 84 others were charged to court for drug offences out of which 51 had been convicted with jail terms ranging from six months to two years imprisonment.
Commandant of the Agency, Adetula Oluwarotimi-Lawal who made the disclosure in Ibadan revealed that within the period under review, the command recorded the seizure of over 3 tonnes of Cannabis, other narcotics and psychotropic substances with an estimated street value of over N1.6Billion.
The agency added that it destroyed a Colorado production factory in Ibadan with the owner currently under prosecution. He urged parents to remain vigilant and keep close watch on their wards.
