Britain’s King Charles Arrives In US For State Visit

Britain’s King Charles III arrived in Washington on Monday for a high-stakes state visit aimed at repairing strained ties with Donald Trump, amid heightened security following an attack at a gala dinner attended by the US president.

Charles and Queen Camilla touched down at Joint Base Andrews near Washington aboard a plane bearing the Union Jack on its tail, before descending red-carpeted steps to begin their four-day visit.

The trip is expected to focus on strengthening diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and the United States, with a series of official engagements planned in Washington and beyond, despite lingering tensions and recent security concerns.
