Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has called on Nigeria’s service chiefs to end terrorism within 90 days or resign from office, expressing frustration over the country’s prolonged security challenges.
Speaking during a church programme shared on X, Adeboye said military and security leaders should be given a clear deadline to eliminate terrorist threats and dismantle the networks supporting them.
The prominent cleric urged the government to intensify efforts against insurgents and criminal groups responsible for attacks across the country, saying Nigerians had endured insecurity for too long.
Adeboye also called for decisive action against sponsors of terrorism, arguing that tackling those financing and enabling violent groups was essential to restoring peace.
Nigeria has battled a 17 year-old insurgency and armed violence with security forces facing continued attacks from Islamist militants, bandits and other armed groups despite repeated military operations.
The comments add to growing public concern over insecurity and increase pressure on authorities to deliver measurable improvements in national security.
