Former Nigerian military leader Abdulsalami Abubakar has urged citizens to embrace politics without bitterness to enable citizens elect credible leaders of their choice.
Abubakar made the call after observing the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Minna Eid prayer ground in Niger State.
He said peace remained essential for meaningful development and called on Nigerians, regardless of ethnic or religious background, to continue praying for unity and stability in the country.
The former head of state also prayed for peace, prosperity and stability in Nigeria as the country battles economic and security challenges. Abubakar congratulated Muslims on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urged citizens to continue living peacefully with one another.
Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago called on Muslims to seek forgiveness and pray for a better Nigeria marked by peace and economic prosperity. The Governor expressed optimism that the country would witness better days through love, mutual respect and the collective efforts of citizens.
He urged Nigerians not to lose hope but remain committed to building a better future for the country.
