The Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Sanjo Adedoyin, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adedoyin’s resignation brings the total number of PDP state lawmakers to have resigned from the party to four. The major leader who announced his resignation in a statement on Friday stated that he would be joining the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) following the unresolved leadership crisis in his former party.
He said his decision was taken after consultation based on his belief in credible opposition. The lawmaker blamed the ruling party at the centre for the instability in the opposition party.
The development now means the PDP now has 20 Lawmakers in the state house of assembly. The PDP-dominated assembly now have four Lawmakers from APM, the APC respectively.
