The Association of Resident Doctors at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State, has commenced a 10-day warning strike over unpaid professional and specialist allowances, manpower shortages, delayed training funds and poor welfare conditions.
The doctors also imposed a ₦50,000 fine on members who defy the strike directive.
The association said the action followed the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum without a commitment from the state government to address their demands, including payment of the 2026 Medical Residency Training Fund, improved security, accommodation and better working conditions.
The doctors said they would review the situation after the 10-day strike and decide on further action.
