NSCDC Deploys 10,210 Personnel For Osun Election

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 10,210 personnel to provide security for Saturday’s Osun governorship election.

NSCDC spokesperson Babawale Afolabi said the deployment includes 10,000 operational officers and 210 personnel from intelligence and specialised tactical units, with 1,000 officers drawn from 10 state commands.

The deployment also includes the Special Intelligence Squad, SWAT, K9 unit, Mining Marshals and other specialised formations.

The NSCDC Commandant-General, Ahmed Audi, assured residents of a professional and impartial operation, while Osun Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo urged personnel to remain apolitical, neutral and respectful of voters throughout the electoral process.

Sotiyo also called on the public to cooperate with security personnel and report suspicious activities through appropriate channels.
