The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has deployed bullet-proof vests and anti-riot equipment to its corps officers for the first time.
The agency said this was part of efforts to improve officer safety and strengthen operations.
Speaking during the presentation of the equipment, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, said the Lagos State Government remained committed to protecting residents through continued support for security agencies with operational tools.
The General Manager of the LNSA, Prince Ifalade Oyekan, praised Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for what he described as a pragmatic approach to security and peaceful coexistence in the state.

Oyekan also commended the LSSTF management for supporting the government’s vision of a safer Lagos.
He urged officers to properly handle and maintain the equipment.
Oyekan stated that the items were procured with taxpayers’ funds and warning that misuse or negligent damage would attract sanctions.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Lagos State.
