Hip-hop artiste Habeeb “Portable” Badmus suffered his first defeat in celebrity boxing on Friday night as social media comedian Carter Efe outclassed him over three rounds to win by unanimous decision.
All three judges scored the contest 30-27 in favour of Efe at the “Chaos in the Ring 4” event held in Victoria Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
The defeat ended Portable’s run as celebrity boxing champion.
Portable, who had beaten Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in previous bouts to claim two belts, entered the ring with his usual bravado, vowing to secure a third title.“I will use you to collect my third belt,” he said before the fight. “Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now.”Efe dismissed the warning, replying: “One punch and you fall.”
In the opening round, Portable pressed forward with aggressive but erratic punches, while Efe absorbed the pressure and responded with measured uppercuts and body shots.
The pattern continued in the second round as Portable threw wide shots and clinched repeatedly, with Efe landing cleaner combinations.
The third round followed a similar course, with Efe consistently finding his range before the final bell. The victory confirmed Efe as the new celebrity boxing champion.
