Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Sunday present President Bola Tinubu with the party’s certificate of return and flag as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election, according to a statement from the presidency.
The presentation will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja following the nationwide collation of results from the party’s presidential primary election which saw the president secure an overwhelming victory over his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary.
.The APC Presidential Primary Elections Committee is expected to formally hand over the certificate and party flag to Tinubu, confirming his emergence as the party’s standard-bearer for the next presidential contest.
The statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said the event will be attended by APC governors, members of the party’s National Executive Committee and National Working Committee, lawmakers from the National Assembly and other senior party figures.
