President Bola Tinubu has proceeded on a well-deserved leave after several months of intensive engagement in the affairs of the country.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the President’s departure from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said the President deserves the break after months of work and major decisions affecting the nation.
Dare said President Tinubu has been heavily engaged with state matters, overseeing what he described as monumental changes in the areas of security, the economy and other critical sectors of governance.
He explained that with the political campaign season already underway, the President needs the opportunity to rest and refuel ahead of the demanding period.
However, Dare stressed that the President’s leave does not mean he will be disconnected from governance.
According to him, President Tinubu will remain actively engaged throughout the period, receiving regular briefings from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, service chiefs and other officials handling key national responsibilities.
He said the President would continue to receive updates and make necessary decisions whenever required, despite being away on leave.
The presidential aide therefore assured Nigerians that governance will continue uninterrupted during the President’s vacation.
President Tinubu is expected to return home after the working vacation to join the hectic campaign for the January 2027 election.
