ADC Releases Timetable For Primaries, Fixes Presidential Nomination Form At N100 Mn

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for the conduct of its 2026 primary elections, outlining key dates for nomination, screening, primaries and party conventions.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the schedule reflects its commitment to internal democracy and compliance with electoral guidelines. “The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially released our timetable for the conduct of our 2026 primary elections. “The timetable reflects our party’s commitment to internal democracy, orderliness and full compliance with electoral guidelines”, the statement said.

According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms will take place from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 11 to May 13.

The party said screening of aspirants will hold between May 14 and May 15, with results to be published on May 17. Appeals are expected to be heard from May 18 to May 19, after which the final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20.

The ADC said Primary elections will begin on May 21, starting with State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate contests at the ward level.

According to the statement, Governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary will hold on May 25.

This will be followed by a meeting of the National Executive Committee on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications will be made.

The party also announced a structured fee regime for nomination forms across elective positions.“In line with our commitment to inclusivity and broad participation, we have also approved a structured fee regime for nomination forms across all elective positions,” the statement said.

It added that the presidential nomination form will cost 100 million naira, governorship 50 million naira, Senate 20 million naira, House of Representatives 10 million naira, and State House of Assembly 3 million naira.

To encourage wider participation, the party said it has introduced discounts for specific groups.“To encourage wider participation, we have introduced concessional rates, offering a 50% discount for youths and a 25% discount for women and persons with disabilities,” it said.

The party called on members, stakeholders and aspirants to strictly adhere to the timetable and guidelines.
